Padel Court Costs and Considerations

Not surprisingly, this is one of the first questions everyone will ask when they are considering installing a Padel court.

We answer it dozens of times daily when sending out quotes and estimates to prospects and it inevitably comes up in every conversation we have with future clients, whether they are individuals, investors, or club operators.

We get it. Price is important. It’s not the only consideration, but it definitely influences the decision-making around quality, options, and time frames.

At Padel+, we believe in helping every potential buyer make the right decision, even if that conversation leads to a conclusion to wait or choose a different option. We do our best to present realistic prices not only for the initial costs but also for the long-term costs of each option.

We will follow the same principle here, and although it is tough to answer this question right off the bat because of the many variable components and options, we strive to give you a good estimate even before you get a professional estimate for a specific site.

The first step will be to make sure you have all of the permits you need for the entire project. Once you have a signed agreement with Padel+ and the site has been prepped, from the day the shipping container arrives, it takes 7-10 days for our team to excavate and pour the slab. Installation can start as soon as the slab is ready and it takes 3-4 days to build a court (that means about a week to build 2 courts - you get the idea). After that, clean-up, landscaping or hardscaping (sidewalks, patios, etc.) can be done in your own time.

Please keep in mind that the example below is an estimate based on our average Padel court installation project in 2023. Prices vary based on the type of court you want, where you live, where the court will be, and other factors, such as site preparation, drainage systems for outdoor courts, what sort of weather the court will be exposed to, etc.

How Much Will My Padel Court Actually Cost?

Okay, let’s put the base price range out there right off the bat, shall we? For the base court, glass (12mm), and turf, you are looking at between $20,000 and $27,000, depending on the model and options you select. In addition, there are associated costs for site preparation and labor, shipping, permitting, and zoning. We have the experience and expertise to guide you on most of these, or else you can research qualified local professionals to ensure your project meets all official criteria and regulations.

All of the options (court model, glass thickness, turf, etc.) are available on request.

Why Choose Padel+?

The Padel+ Team, led by Lee Witham and Rob Krizek includes court and racquet industry professionals with over fifty years of experience building and operating successful facilities and programs here in the US.

We are the official US, Canadian, and Caribbean Partner of JUBO Padel, the leader in Padel court construction for over 25 years, and now the official court provider for the A1 Padel Tour, which is hosting its first event in Central Park, New York City October 9-15, 2023.

Based in Spain, JUBO Padel is a second-generation family business (that’s just one of the reasons we like working with them) that has supplied, delivered, and installed more than 5,000 courts around the world.

The way we see it, JUBO Padel’s commitment to quality and service is unmatched. There are other manufacturers out there, some of whom are based in the US, but JUBO Padel have the experience and knowledge that we are looking for. Their courts are guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship for 7 years (subject to proper maintenance), and their operation reduces customer costs for courts of similar quality and increases the courts’ lifetime value.

The Bottom Line

Here is a breakdown based on a typical single outdoor court project. It is representative, but every situation is unique, and everyone makes their own choices based on budgets, location, business plans, etc. Important: it does not include costs for design, permitting, or electrical work.

Other configurations, both indoor and outdoor can be built, of course. Here are examples of the costs for building on an existing outdoor tennis or basketball court and on vacant land or clay tennis courts.

Note: the courts will arrive in a 40’ shipping container, which must be on-site.
